MARK A. LEVINE – LICENSED NURSING HOME ADMINISTRATOR

Mark Levine is President of Levine & Associates, a multi-faceted company, located in Jacksonville, FL, geared toward supporting the senior care industry.

Mr. Levine completed his Bachelor’s Degree at SUNY at Cortland and later earned a Master’s Degree in HealthCare Administration from Cornell University. He served in the United States Army Reserves as a Field Medic where he received clinical training and provided direct patient care.

Over the course of his 20 plus year career as a licensed nursing home administrator, he has managed XX different senior care organizations, both as a licensed administrator and as a member of senior management or multi-level senior care providers.

Mr. Levine completed an Administrative Fellowship at Miami Jewish Home and Hospital, an organization with a national reputation for quality of care and innovation. He was the administrator of a facility in South Florida that became a recipient of the Florida Gold Seal program for excellence. This award is given to only 5% of all nursing homes in Florida that demonstrate superior management and high quality of life programming.

Mr. Levine anticipates being appointed by Governor Rick Scott to the Florida Board of Nursing Home Administrators (one of only three in the state) in 2013. He has participated in and/or managed successful “back to compliance” initiatives including federal re-certifications, special facility Focus and SNF program monitoring. He also had the unique experience of opening two new dual certified nursing homes between 2005 and 2009.

As a court appointed Patient Care Ombudsman, he evaluates and reports on quality of care issues and is responsible for monitoring patient care and representing the interests of patients of healthcare debtors. He routinely interviews patients and physicians, and works diligently to objectively evaluate and make certain that resident rights are preserved.

Mr. Levine operates a multifaceted company geared to supporting the senior care industry. As an expert witness, he provides methodical, insightful analysis in cases involving abuse and neglect and his expertise is in regulatory compliance, standards of care, as well as offering opinions on reasonable nursing home and assisted living operations.
